Mark Long comes to the Oregon Home Builders Association with over 32 years of experience working for the State of Oregon. Before moving to Salem in 1988 to work as a Factory Building Inspector, he managed a hardware and auto parts store in Springfield. In 2003 he took over the helm at BCD, serving the last seventeen years as the Administrator of State Building Codes.
Born and raised in Eugene, Mark is a 4th generation Oregonian, representing the family of pioneers who came to Oregon on the wagon train to eventually settle in Cornelius, OR. He follows that pioneering spirit by travelling to and from his farm in eastern Oregon with his wife Heather and their two dogs.
Mark enjoys the abundant outdoor activities the state has to offer; he loves hiking, fishing, boating and more with his wife and two adult children.
Mark is committed to ensuring homeownership is available and affordable for all Oregonians. In his time at the OHBA, he looks forward to continuing to serve the housing and business industry, as well as assisting with the work of the local home builders associations in the state he calls home.
