Ezra Hammer

Ezra is the Vice President of Policy & Government Affairs for the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Metropolitan Portland.  In that role, he oversees regionwide and local advocacy efforts on behalf of the HBA and those involved in the land development, homebuilding, and remodeling industries.  Prior to joining HBA, Ezra worked as a land use attorney at one at one of Los Angeles’ premier land use law firms, where his clients included local, regional, and national development companies entitling and building throughout Southern California.  Ezra also served as the Senior Planner for Councilman Mike Bonin, who represents Council District 11 on the Los Angeles City Council.  In that role, he was responsible for overseeing discretionary land use projects and long-range planning efforts within the District.  Ezra has extensive experience guiding development projects through the entitlement process, crafting policies to support mixed-income and transit-oriented housing, and effectuating public-private land transfers.  He is a proud YIMBY and believes that only by increasing housing opportunities can we ensure that the next generation of Oregonians are able to afford homes and build intergenerational wealth.
