Greg Olson – A Portland native, is President and founder of Olson and Jones Construction. He is a Benson High School graduate and began working for himself shortly after high school. Forming Olson & Jones Construction in 1982 he bought out his partner in 1989.
Within the Portland metro market, Olson & Jones Construction is a renowned brand delivering quality products with exceptional service and recognized as an industry leader. Over the past 18 years Olson & Jones has been ranked in Qualified Remodeler Magazine Top 500 remodelers in the nation.
Supporting the local construction industry is important to Greg. He and Olson & Jones are actively involved in the industry associations. He also serves on the advisory board for Portland Community College’s Building Construction Technology programs as well as the advisory boards for three high school shop programs. He was a contributing writer for five editions of the Oregon Contractors Reference Manual. In 2018 Greg was invited to participate in the Governor’s Future Ready Summit with the construction industry.
In 2007 Greg was honored with a Big50 award from Qualified Remodeler Magazine.
In 2012 he received the Neil Kelly Award in recognition of leadership through education and committee service.
In 2015 Greg was asked to serve as a judge at the national Skills USA competition.
He was featured in Qualified Remodeler Magazine for the company’s management style and unique business model.
Additionally he was featured in the book Inspiring Entrepreneurs: How to Build Your Business to Its First Million and has recently contributed to another book currently being written on small business.
Greg enjoys helping others and has participated in many building projects for those less fortunate, including many trips to southern Mexico. In 2017 and 2018 Olson & Jones was involved in a co-branding fund raising effort for All Classical Portland and the Oregon Food Bank. The culmination was funding support for the radio station and a large contribution to the Oregon Food Bank.
Greg loves his wife, 3 daughters, skiing, obstacle course racing, and motorcycle riding.
