A conversation with Gene Myers of Thrive Home Builders and Mike Frey of Noyes Development
Gene Myers founded the award-winning high performance building company Thrive Home Builders in 1992 in Denver. Nationally and internationally recognized, Thrive’s accomplishments include 2021 Resnet President’s Award for most energy efficient builder in the US and Canada and 12 consecutive Grand Awards for Housing Innovation from DOE. Thrive was ProBuilder magazine’s Builder of the Year in 2017 as well as a National Housing Quality Award Bronze and Silver winner. Gene was awarded the EEBA Legend Award in 2020 by the Energy and Environmental Building Alliance and the 2021 Sustainability Super Hero by Green Builder magazine.
In the opening keynote, Gene will share his journey and history with Thrive Home Builders and how the industry can advance their building practices today to ensure a better future. He will focus on scaling up high performance home building and not just building high-performance homes but creating a high performance company while engaging subcontractors and customers.
Gene has a record sharing best practices and lessons learned with fellow high-performance builders through his leadership in the Energy and Environmental Building Alliance. As President Gene launched EEBA’s partnership with the Solar Decathlon, the Builder Benchmark Group and along with the Shelton Group, WNDO, a customer survey tool for high performance builders.
