Demand Response Ventilation Versus ASHREA 90.1 Ventilation

In this session, Douglas will share the data he has gathered from his home since the wildfire season of 2020. Starting with an HP ducted forced air system using a CIFS and MERV 11 filter, this allowed the AQI in his home to climb as high as 496 with a PM 2.5 concentration of 488 ug/m3 causing the home to be non-habitable. Over the last 3 years, Doug has integrated several unique products and found a way to have them communicate. He now has a home with an AQI that will remain low regardless of the environmental conditions in & outside. This system will respond to changes in indoor air quality according to defined parameters concerning VOC’s, PM 2.5, CO2 temperature and humidity.

New homes are built tighter and more efficiently. This has caused new problems concerning IAQ and these new problems must be addressed. The solution is based on the occupant’s ventilation needs rather than the ventilation needs of the building.
